A fresher had always fought to find a job that can take off the career into the next level. But the COVID-19 has added another hurdle to their growth. Right now you are not sure when this fight will end but this doesn’t mean that you will lose your hope for finding the right job. Here are some tips that may help you in sailing the difficult sea and reaching the shore happily.
Introspect yourself
This is the best time to understand yourself. Explore what you are and what you want to be in life. Ask yourself questions. Identify the skills that will help you grow. AI and Machine Learning are the most relevant concepts and COVID-19 have further emphasized on these skills. Hence learn how these skills can be merged further with your core expertise and job profile.
Be available everywhere
It is essential that you make presence across all jobs offering platforms. Be regular at them and get in touch with organizations that are offering career opportunities. From time to time update your information. Also don’t apply anywhere and everywhere in agitation. Be calm and mindfully apply to jobs that are relevant to your profile and which makes you feel that you want to do this.
Know where you are
Keep a track of your job posting, where and when you have applied. This will be helpful in creating a follow up of your application. Build in a data which maintains the job title, profile, compensation, contact person details and job portal where the link is available.
Your resume should say everything
Since you are a fresher and the only things which matter in your resume are qualification, skills, internship experiences and projects. Therefore it is very important that you use the right keywords that make your resume approachable. Do complete research about resume writing in your interested fields and add in details that work in your favour.
Just calls are not enough
You may be receiving recruiters’ calls about your profile but this is not enough. Convert these calls into interviews where they connect you further with correct teams and concerned person who will provide a job. Also be attentive during these calls as they give you preliminary idea as what the job entails.
Don’t be ‘permanent-job’ stubborn
If you are getting something which suits your preferences in consulting or remote basis then accept it. Today is the right time. You have so much explore and time is with you. Don’t make your job waiting too lengthy. Be there in the market while you enter in a short term agreement. This will add further value to your knowledge and experience. Make yourself happy in whatever you are doing.
